Favourite Pose?

Tough question – Constructive Rest Pos with some deep conscious breathing is my favourite pose to unwind after a busy day, it’s like a calming balm for my body and mind. Because I sit at a desk all day, I also love back-bending poses like supported fish or puppy pose to unravel the knots and release tension after a day in the office.

Why did you start doing yoga?

To help manage stress and a busy mind – I had heard so many times that yoga is great for calming the mind and I eventually found myself walking into the Cultivate Calm Yoga studio a few short years ago. It wasn’t love at first practice, but I knew there was something more to it than just making shapes so I kept coming back. It gradually became a place where I learned how to unwind and let go of stress and to feel good. My body became stronger and my mind became clearer.

Why did you become a teacher?

I enrolled in a program to delve deeper into my own practice and to understand the framework behind it. I gained so much appreciation for yoga. The desire to share it with others naturally unfolded from that point.

How do you describe your teaching style?

Mindful flowing movement with some fun challenges thrown into the mix for all levels.

What has yoga taught you?

To be okay with just being me and not to take life too seriously.

What do you want your students to know?

Every practice you do is like a deposit in your mental health bank account and it will be there when you need it. Your future self will thank you for it!
