Favourite pose

Butterfly pose.  I particularly love the yin version of this pose for my hips and spine.

Why did you start doing yoga?

I started yoga so I could stretch my tight muscles from a lot of running.  As soon as I started yoga I gave up running and decided to be gentle with my body!

Why did you become a teacher?

I signed up for yoga teacher training as a way to get out of my comfort zone as the idea of standing in front of a group of people was really quite scary.  Since then I’ve done extra training in Yin yoga and I’m currently studying to be a Kundalini Yoga teacher.

How do you describe your teaching style?

My teaching style is quite gentle and supportive.  I like to focus on the mindful and calming aspects of yoga.
