Turn your practice upside down with Heather

Wednesday 16 August – Ekka Holiday

Product Description

Turn your practice upside down.

Been wanting to learn how to do headstand or handstands?

Is fear holding you back?

This workshop lead by Heather will take you through a safe and supported journey of inversions.  You will discover everything you need to know to turn your practice upside down. You will gain the skills and confidence to challenge yourself and give you some tools to take back into class with you whilst working at a pace that suits you.

Inversions are wonderful for defying gravity (and making you younger!) On mental and emotional levels, inversions help you to overcome fear, trust in your own abilities and try new things. All are lessons that can be applied to life.

You’ll learn how Mudras and Mantras can assist your yoga practice, how Pranayama can move energy around your body, and how a restorative sequence and guided meditation at the end will send you floating out the door.

We will work on handstand, headstand, shoulderstand and gentle restorative inversions. You will learn how to build up to these poses safely and trust yourself.  And  you will discover the power of your core.

This smaller group workshop will provide a greater opportunity for hands on adjustments and individual tuition.

This workshop is not suitable for people with neck or back injuries, high blood pressure, glaucoma or pregnant women. You will benefit most from this workshop if you have at least 3 months regular yoga experience.

Space limited to 17 people.

Thoroughly enjoyed the “Inversion Workshop” with Heather on Monday, it was challenging and fun all at the same time. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to improve their inversions or wanting to push past their fears.

This was a great fun workshop. I feel much more confident about getting upside down – even though I might be sticking with the support of the wall for a little while longer. I also feel like I have a good understanding of safe inversion practice. Heather is also so delightfully down to earth and guided us through a fantastic yoga nidra to conclude the workshop. I would absolutely recommend this workshop for anyone who is looking for to get into inversions.

I loved this workshop! Heather’s tips and guidance hit the mark in giving me the confidence to try new things. This is a great workshop if you want to move from ‘hesitant’ to ‘positive” when it comes to inversions. Such a lovely way to invest time in yourself too.

Excellent, Good mix of technique, support, practice and theory, along with a relaxed environment and knowledgable instruction from Heather. Highly recommend, great value for money, would likely pay more elsewhere.

What an amazingly challenging, energetic and fun class. I not only added a new skill or two to my yoga bow, I also managed to make a new friend and pass through my barrier of handstands! Heather was very thorough with her teaching offering assistance and guideance to everyone in the workshop. Regardless of being a longtime yogi or just starting out, you’re guaranteed to learn something – either a skill or about yourself.

    Highly recommended!

What a great way to spend an afternoon.
Heather ran us through a nice Vinyasa routine to limber everyone up. And then it was time for the challenge!
It was great to gradually add effort and complexity until I finally achieved the goal. Great way to learn.
I was surprised at the sudden impact of fear/anxiety when I was finally on the way up, but Heather was very encouraging and supportive and made it all feel very safe.
The other great aspect was meeting other people from classes I may not attend; everyone quickly developed a good sense of mutual encouragement and camaraderie. It became a team effort to get everyone up.
And we all did – SUCCESS!!!
The final “best part”? Going home and quietly standing on my head while my teenage kids (who always tease me about my poor flexibility) just looked on in awe. Is showing-off bad karma?

Hi the ‘Inversion work shop’ was so good 🙂 Heather’s instruction was very good, she gave the foundation and in that gave confidence to do it.
To any one who wanted to improve or challenge there yoga it’s a great way of doing it.

Myself I had never able to do a handstand with out the need of a wall I’m in my late 40’s doing this is gave me so much more than I can say 🙂

What a great workshop! This is a wonderful whole body stretch and work out – Heather is a fantastic teacher and her guidance is always clear and supportive. I was nervous about inversions and doubted I had the upper body strength to handle it, but with guidance I finally got up! I’ve been hooked since and can’t wait for the next inversion workshop. Don’t let fear stop you – this workshop is for everyone!
